SEATTLE, Wash.-- The Eastern Washington University men's tennis team lost to the University of Washington today (March 15) 7-0. The Eagles now sit at an overall record of 2-8 and 1-4 in Big Sky Conference play after today's loss.
"Late night tennis, it was a battle," said head coach Steve Clark. "Number one doubles was a battle to the end but we gave up a 40 love lead. Jeremy Field was at number one singles and then Mikayel Khachatryan played two guys that just seemed like they could not miss. At number two singles, the Washington player was just flawless. Martin Bats won the first set at number four and seemed to be in charge, but his opponent just stayed steady and came up with the win in the tiebreaker in the third set. We have a lot of things to improve on."
