Men's Tennis Plays Host to Montana State and Montana this Saturday and Sunday

Eagles look to bring in two wins over the Bobcats and Grizzlies this weekend in Cheney, Wash.

CHENEY, Wash.-- The Eastern Washington University men's tennis team plays host to Montana State and Montana this Saturday (April 13) and Sunday (April 14).

"We look forward to playing at home. That is for sure," said head coach Steve Clark.

The Eagles return to Cheney, Wash., after their 6-1 loss to Northern Arizona last Sunday (April 7). Eastern has an overall record of 3-13 and 1-6 in Big Sky Conference play.

EWU will first host Montana State on Saturday at the Jim Thorpe Fieldhouse. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. Pacific time. MSU has an overall record of 3-10 and 2-4 in conference play, with three victories over Whitman at Missoula (7-0), Weber State (5-2) and Sacramento State (5-2). The Bobcats are led by head coach Jared Burnham, who is in his sixth season as head coach.

Following Saturday's match, the Eagles will finish the weekend off by hosting Montana on Sunday at 2 p.m. PT. The Grizzlies have an overall record of 7-11 and 4-3 in conference play, ranking them fifth overall out of the Big Sky schools.

After this weekend's matches, Eastern will return to play for their final regular season match of the 2019 season when they host Idaho (April 20) in Cheney, Wash., at 1 p.m. PT.
