OGDEN, Utah-- For the first time in his career, Eastern Washington University men's tennis playe
r Jeremy Field earned All-Big Sky Conference Singles First-Team, as announced by the conference today (May 3). The honor comes after being named to the Second-Team Singles last season.
"Jeremy is very deserving. He is clearly one of the best players to have played in the Big Sky Conference, the Northwest NCAA region and he will be among the best players to have come out of Eastern," said head coach Steve Clark. "His talent, coach-ability and passion go a long way and he is a pure pleasure to coach. Congratulations, Jeremy."
Field earned the honor after recording an overall record of 12-7 and compiled a 7-3 mark in Big Sky play during his final season as an Eagle. The senior competed primarily at the No. 1 singles spot and allowed only three losses in conference play. He ended his career on a three-match winning streak, including winning six out of his last 10 matches.
Field, a native of Seyssinet-Pariset, France, helped the Eagles cap off the season with home victories over Montana and Idaho where he finished 4-0 in singles and doubles play.
Along with Field, the first-team consisted of Northern Arizona's Tim Handel, Southern Utah's Salvador Mijares, Sacramento State's Mikus Losbergs and Montana's Max Korkh.
