CHENEY, Wash. – Three new Eastern Washington University soccer players inked National Letters of Intent to come join the Eagles in the fall of 2021 on the first day of the National Signing Period (Nov. 11).
Rylee Franklin,
Katrina Kupp and
Miranda Matson will join the Eagles as true freshman.

Rylee Franklin | Kennewick, Wash. | Kamiakin HS | 5-4" | M/F
Rylee Franklin started her high school career at Southridge High School in the Tri-Cities where she earned a Tri-City Herald All-Area honorable mention nod in 2017 as a freshman.
After two years at Southridge, Franklin earned another All-League honorable mention spot for the Mid-Columbia Conference in 2019 as a junior playing for Kamiakin High School. She helped the Braves win regionals and reach the state quarterfinals.
Franklin plays for the Spokane Sounders Soccer Club and the squad earned a Division I league championship in 2018.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Alan and Kelli Franklin… Has aspirations of becoming a dental hygienist.
Katrina Kupp | Yakima, Wash. | Davis HS | 5-5" | M/F
Katrina Kupp is an in-state product from Yakima, Wash., where she played soccer all four years at Davis High School.
As a junior in 2019, Kupp earned Columbia Basin First-Team All-Conference honors. She was selected to play for Eastern Washington's Elite Player Development program from 2017 to 2020 and was also selected for the ODP Regional Camp. Kupp was a two-time captain for the Pirates and was also a team captain for her club team, the Central Washington Sounders.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Craig and Karin Kupp… Plans on majoring in exercise physiology with aspirations of becoming a physical therapist… Her older brothers
Cooper Kupp (2013-16) and
Ketner Kupp (2015-18) both played football at Eastern Washington along with her great-uncle, Jeff Kupp (1982-84)… Her grandfather, Jake Kupp played in the NFL from 1964-75 while Cooper is in his fourth season as a wide receiver for the LA Rams... Ketner signed as an undrafted free agent with the Rams in 2019... Her father, Craig Kupp, also played in the NFL from 1990-92... Her other older brother, Kobe Kupp, also attends Eastern Washington.
Miranda Matson | Folsom, Calif. | 5-9" | D
Miranda Matson joins the Eagles all the way from Folsom, Calif., where she attends Vista Del Lago High School.
Matson's club team, Placer United, reached the semi-finals of the D.A. and were ranked as high as fourth nationally in 2019. During the D.A. playoffs, Matson anchored the backline for all 320 minutes, helping the Placer's concede just two goals in four games.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Linda and Doug Matson… Intends on majoring in criminal justice at Eastern Washington. Her older sister,
Kiara Matson, is currently a freshman goalkeeper on the EWU soccer team… Her uncle, Jesus Guzman, had stints in the MLB with multiple teams such as the Padres, Astros and Giants.
