CHENEY, Wash. – The Eastern Washington University men's tennis team sent a defeated Idaho State home after picking up a 5-2 win today (Mar. 8) at the Jim Thorpe Fieldhouse. The Eagles now have a Big Sky Conference record of 1-3 and 2-9 overall, sending the Bengals a third loss as they fall to 2-3 in conference play.
Sophomores
Manuel Balce and
Wout Doumen individually go 2-0 following the weekend after defeating both Weber State and Idaho State in singles play.
"We scored a good win today and we fought very well," said head coach
Jared Burnham. "My players stayed focused on the court and that is something I am proud of. I expect the competitiveness to continue as we move forward."
Following the win today, the Eagles break a seven-game losing streak and move to an overall series record of 10-21 against the Bengals.
