CHENEY, Wash. – Following the opening match of the new season, the Eastern Washington University men's tennis team gears up to face the University of Washington on Jan. 27 for a double-header at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center in Seattle, Wash. The first match is set to begin at 2 p.m. Pacific time and the second at 5 p.m. PT.
The Eagles return to play with a record of 0-1 after facing Gonzaga to a 7-0 deficit last Saturday to open the 2021 spring season.
The Eagles have yet to find victory over the Huskies as they have an overall series record of 0-16. Washington is led by 27
th year head coach Matt Anger who has led his team to the NCAA Championships 21 times, as he has a winning record in 22 of his 26 seasons. The matches against EWU are the first of the season for the Huskies.
Following the match, the Eagles return to competition Feb. 7 as they host Utah State for the first home match of the season.
