Joddie Gleason will be featured on the 2021 Big Sky Conference Basketball Tipoff show this Thursday, Nov. 4, on ESPN+.
The show begins at 9 a.m. Pacific time, with Eastern Washington's segment set to begin at 9:07 a.m. Along with both head coaches, redshirt-sophomore guard
Casson Rouse will be the men's representative, and redshirt-sophomore power forward
Milly Knowles will the Eagle women guest.
Big Sky Director of Broadcast and Digital Media, Mariluz Cook, will serve as the host and interview both men's and women's basketball head coaches and student-athletes from all 11 full-time institutions. The full schedule is below.
The Eastern Washington's women's basketball team is preparing for an exhibition at home against Whitworth on Friday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. at Reese Court. They officially open the season on Nov. 11 against San Jose State, also at home at 6 p.m. The men open the season officially at Nevada on Tuesday, Nov. 9 with tipoff set for 7 p.m. in Reno, Nev. The home-opener is set for Nov. 15 against Walla Walla.
Riley enters his first season as head coach, but his 12
th on staff with the Eagles. He and his coaching staff bring back six returners and welcome 12 newcomers, seven of which are true freshmen and five are transfers. The Eagles are the defending Big Sky Conference Tournament Champions, and were selected to finish eighth by the coaches and seventh by the media in this year's Big Sky preseason polls.
Gleason is also in her first season, and the 2021-22 edition of Eagle women's basketball features eight returners and eight newcomers, five of which are true freshmen and three transferred in. Eastern Washington was picked to finish 11
th by the coaches and 10
th by the media in the preseason polls.
