Men’s Tennis on the Road Against Montana State and Montana, Friday and Saturday, for Final Two Regular Season Matches

The Eagles face two Big Sky Conference programs to complete the 2021 spring season

CHENEY, Wash. – The Eastern Washington University men's tennis squad travels to face Montana State this Friday, April 16 at 2 p.m. Pacific time in Bozeman, Mont., before concluding regular season play at Montana the following day on April 17 at 11 a.m. PT in Missoula, Mont.

The Eagles currently hold an 0-11 overall and an 0-2 Big Sky Conference record.

Senior Jeremy Mueller currently holds a two-match winning streak at the No.6 singles spot after defeating Omaha in singles play (7-5, 6-3) and collecting the lone singles point in EWU's previous match against conference foe Idaho (4-6, 6-2, 11-9).

Montana State is led by head coach Trey Morris, who enters his second season at the helm, currently leads his squad to a 3-8 overall and 0-2 conference record with two victories over Idaho State and one against Seattle. The Bobcats are returning after falling to Idaho 4-3 at home, as they look to host EWU and then Montana for their final two regular season matches.

The Eagles hold an all-time series record of 7-34 against the Bobcats with their last victory dated back to February of 2018 when Eastern hosted Montana State for a 5-2 victory.

Montana is led by head coach Jason Brown, who enters his fourth season at the helm and currently leads his team to a 7-10 overall and an even 1-1 conference record after defeating Idaho (4-3) in its last match. Montana fell to conference opponent Portland State (6-1) earlier this season, as they look to finish regular play against EWU and Montana State, respectively.

The Eagles hold an all-time series record of 6-48 and won their last match against the Grizzlies back in April of 2019 in which EWU hosted UM to a 5-2 victory.
