CHENEY, Wash. –The Eastern Washington University men's tennis team returns to the Jim Thorpe Fieldhouse to host one last non-conference match against Whitman College this Saturday (Feb. 19) at 3 p.m. Pacific Time in Cheney, Wash. The Eagles sit 1-5 overall with Big Sky Conference play just around the corner.
EWU's home match versus the Blues concludes a streak of five home matches in which the Eagles have gone 1-3 so far, picking up the lone victory against Whitworth (6-1) back on Feb. 13.
Eastern holds an 8-13 all-time series record versus Whitman, with a three-match winning streak. EWU's last competition versus the Blues dates back to January of 2012 when Eastern won 5-2 in Cheney. Additionally, the Eagles are an even 7-7 at home versus Whitman.
The Blues currently hold an overall record of 0-3. They are led by head coach Jeff Northam, who enters his 26
th season in the program. Whitman will face Whitworth earlier on Saturday, Feb. 19 in Spokane, Wash., before traveling to Cheney.
