Final Home Games of the Regular Season on Deck for the Eagles

Eastern Washington will celebrate five seniors on Saturday

The final homestand of the season for Eastern Washington women's basketball starts this Thursday at Reese Court. The Eagles host Northern Colorado on Thursday, Feb. 24 with tip-off at 6 p.m. Pacific Time. Eastern then plays Sacramento State on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m.

Senior Day
Saturday is senior day for women's basketball, as Jordyn Boesel, Bria Rice, Britt Van Buren, Tatiana Reese and Megan Fossen will play their final game at Reese Court.

Last Time Out
Eastern Washington traveled to Moscow this past Saturday for round two against Idaho. Eastern dropped the game, 72-79, to fall to 0-2 against Vandals this season.
 
Four Eagles scored in double-figures and shot 35.2 percent from the floor, while also going 15-of-17(88.2%) from the free-throw line
 
Eastern held a four-point lead after the first quarter against Idaho and had a three point advantage at halftime. The Vandals outscored the Eagles, 21-13, in the third to take the lead, shooting 47.4 percent in the quarter. The fourth quarter was an offensive showcase, with both teams shooting over 40 percent. Idaho would outscore Eastern in the quarter, 26-24, to get the win at home.
 
Jaydia Martin and Jalessa Lawrence each scored 17 points in the game, shooting 35.2 and 45.4 percent respectively. Jacinta Buckley notched her eighth double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Alexis Pettis scored 14 points for her fourth consecutive double figures scoring game.
 
Eastern finished with a 50-40 rebounding advantage and the teams matched each other in the paint, each scoring 28 points.

A Look at the Eagles
Eastern Washington heads into the final stretch of the regular season with a 5-11 Big Sky record and 7-18 overall this season. The team has a 5-8 record at Reese court and is 2-9 on the road, going 0-1 in its only neutral site game. The Eagles had won three of four games, before dropping their game to Idaho on Saturday.
 
Eastern has been effective this season in limiting opponents shooting, allowing a 38.0 field-goal percentage in the team's 25 games and ranking second in the Big Sky. Against Idaho, the Eagles held the Vandals to a 38.8 shooting percentage and 31 percent from three-point range. The team is allowing opponents to shoot 30.6 percent from three.
 
The Eagles have also been reliable in creating turnovers, averaging 15.92 forced per game. Eastern has a 1.00 turnover margin this season. Stealing the ball has been key element to the turnover margin and Eastern averages 8.9 a game to rank second in the conference. Overall this season, the Eagles have 222 steals this season, led by Jaydia Martin's 37. Jaleesa Lawrence comes in right behind martin with 36 steals and Jacinta Buckley is third with 31. 
 
Martin has been the central scoring figure for Eastern this season, averaging 14.6 points per game on 32.1 percent shooting. The Vancouver, Wash. native leads the Big Sky with 56 made three-pointers and 192 three-point attempts. She is averaging 2.24 made three-pointers per game and is shooting 29.2 percent from behind the arc to rank sixth in the conference.
 
Complementing Martin is Buckley, who averages 12.8 points per game on 41.5 percent shooting. The Spokane, Wash. native is a two-way force to deal with, leading the team and ranking second in the Big Sky with 9.0 rebounds per game. Buckley is second in the conference with eight double-doubles, recording her latest against the Vandals.
 
Lawrence adds a strong third option on offense for the Eagles, contributing 8.6 points per game. The Meridian, Idaho native is second on the team with 31 made three-pointers and is shooting 40.8 percent from three.
 
Andie Zylak averages 3.7 assists per game to make the Eastern offense run, along with 5.4 points per game. Against Idaho, Zylak recorded a career-high 10 rebounds and had four assists in the game as well.

A Look at the Bears
Northern Colorado holds a 7-9 record in conference games and is 11-13 overall this season. The Bears are on a two-game winning streak after defeating Idaho State(53-52) and Weber State(60-55) at home. UNC is 4-9 on the road.
 
This Bears are the top scoring defense in the Big Sky, allowing opponents only 59.9 points per game.  They excel at defending the three-point shot, with opponents shooting 29.4 percent to lead the conference.
 
Hannah Simental is UNC top scorer, averaging 14.0 points per game to rank sixth in the Big Sky. Simental averages 2.27 made three-pointers a game, second best in the conference and also holds the second best three-point shooting percentage(41.3%). The sophomore has the second highest free-throw percentage in the Big Sky, with an 87.7 percent mark from the line.
 
Junior Kurstyn Harden leads the Bears with 7.3 rebounds per game and is second on the team with 11.2 points per game. Harden has seven double-doubles this season.

Series History
Eastern trails Northern Colorado in the all-time series, 11-20. The Eagles have a 6-9 record against the Bears at Reese Court and 4-9 on the road, going 1-1 in neutral site matchups. UNC has won the last five meetings between the two teams.
 
Late in January, the teams faced off in Greeley, with UNC edging Eastern, 62-54. Jaleesa Lawrence led the Eagles with 13 points in the game.

A Look at the Hornets
Sacramento State has a 9-7 Big Sky record and 13-12 overall this season. The Hornets are 6-6 on the road and 6-5 at home, with a 1-1 record in neutral site games. This past weekend, Sac. St. dropped two games, falling against Weber State(52-62) and Idaho State(56-67) at home.

Lianna Tillman leads the Big Sky with 20.5 points per game and is also leads in assists with 6.1 per game. The Stockton, Calif. native also leads the conference in minutes per game(37.17) and field-goals made(203).

Isnelle Natabou is the conference's top rebounder with 11.7 per game. Natabou is fifth in the scoring with 14.1 points to complement Tillman. Natabou has 15 double-doubles this season, ranking first in the Big Sky. The sophomore leads the conference in field-goal percentage with a 63.0 figure and is fifth with 1.20 blocks per game.

The Hornets average 65.6 points per game and are allowing 65.5 points to opponents.

Series History
Eastern Washington leads the all-time series against Sacramento State, with a 37-20 advantage. The Eagles are 16-8 against the Hornets at home and 19-10 on the road, going 2-2 at neutral sites.

Eastern is on a one-game losing streak to Sac. St after the teams met in January in Sacramento, with the Hornets winning 59-49. Jacinta Buckley was the top scorer for the Eagles, finishing with 15 points.
