CHENEY, Wash. – In a dominant performance, the Eastern Washington University men's tennis team defeated Whitworth by a score of 6-1 today at the Jim Thorpe Fieldhouse in Cheney, Wash. The Eagles improve to 1-4 on the season with two-straight home matches left before beginning Big Sky Conference play.
Today's performance showed nothing but a team effort. Eastern dominated in doubles play, allowing only four points across all three matches, including a shutout at the No. 3 doubles position.

Eastern moves to an overall series record of 22-9 versus the Pirates, with a 19-0 winning streak. Additionally, the Eagles have dominated Whitworth 7-0 in nine of their last 10 competitions, allowing only 14 total points across the past 19 matches.
