The 2022 fall season is fast approaching and Eastern Washington women's soccer has locked in their schedule.
Head coach
Missy Strasburg begins her second season leading the Eagles with two exhibition matches, starting against the University of Calgary on August 9
th at EWU Soccer Field at 5 p.m. Pacific Time. Eastern will then take on Yakima Valley Community College on August 12
th at 5 p.m.
The regular season opens on the road for the Eagles as they travel to face Oregon State on August 18
th. Eastern then travels for a matchup against Portland on August 21
st.
Eastern's home opener is set for August 25
th against Nevada, with the match starting at 4 p.m. The Eagles' next match will take them down to Pullman, Wash. on August 28
th for a 1 p.m. start against Washington State.
On September 1st, Eastern will play host to Denver at 4 p.m., before the team gets back on the road to play UNLV on September 4
th.
The following week, fans get two home matches as the Eagles take on North Dakota on September 9
th and Louisiana on September 11
th.
Eastern's final non-conference matchups is on the road against San Jose State on September 15
th and Boise State on September 18
th.
September 22
nd marks the beginning of Big Sky competition, with the Eagles hosting Idaho State at 3 p.m. The Eagles stay at EWU Soccer Field to take on Weber State at 1 p.m on September 25
th.
Eastern's next three matches will be road contests against Northern Colorado(September 30
th), defending conference champions, Montana(October 2
nd), and Northern Arizona(October 6
th).
Following the road trip, the Eagles will enjoy two-straight home matches starting with Sacramento State on October 14
th at 1 p.m. Eastern celebrates senior day against Portland State on October 16
th for a 1 p.m. kickoff in Cheney.
The team's final regular season match will be against Idaho on October 23
rd, with a 12 p.m. start in Moscow, ID.
The Big Sky tournament will take place in Greeley, Colo. this season, with matches scheduled for November 2
nd through the 6
th.
Eastern Washington went 3-6 in the Big Sky and 5-12 overall during the 2021 season, finishing seventh in the conference. The Eagles will return 14 players from last season, while adding 16 newcomers to the roster. The returners include All-Big Sky first team selection,
Madison Kem, and All-Big Sky defensive honorable mention,
Mya Elder-Hammond. Kem, a junior midfielder, tied for the team lead with three goals last season, including two game winners. Elder-Hammond played in all 17 of the team's matches and logged 1,503 minutes, helping Eastern to record four shutouts.
