Saturday nights are better with a win as Eastern Washington men's tennis defeated William Jessup, 6-1 tonight (March 25). The Eagles improve to 4-8 on the season after winning the doubles point and five singles matches.
Steven Paz battled to a two-set win at the No. 1 spot, winning both sets 6-4 over Roger Wen.
Eastern's freshmen duo of
Tyler Dalos and
Caden Kammerer both picked up singles wins and then combined for a doubles victory at the No. 1 position, defeating Wen and Austrebeto Carlon, 6-4. Dalos, playing at No. 3, would defeat Carlon in singles, fighting to a win in the tiebreaker, 10-8. Kammerer knocked off Mihnea Secara in two sets (6-1, 6-2) in the No. 4 spot.
At the No. 5 position,
Drew Dillon earned a two-set win over Isaac Graves, winning 6-3 in each.
Brady Thomas picked up the win at the No. 6 spot, 6-0, 6-4 against Tanner Sitanggang.
Dillon and Thomas earned the win in doubles, 6-2, over Sitanggang and Graves.
