Eastern Washington men's tennis resumed Big Sky Conference play today, (March 5), visiting the Montana Grizzlies at the PEAK Racquet Courts in Missoula, Mont. In the dual, Montana defeated Eastern 7-0, pushing the Eagles to 0-2 in league play and 3-6 overall while the Griz advance to 1-1 and 5-5.
Singles
Steven Paz faced Gustav Theilgaard at No. 1 singles and forced a 7-6 score in set two before falling 7-2 in the tie breaker. Freshman Tyler Dalos competed tough at No. 4 singles, but came up short 6-4, 6-3. Other highlights saw Caden Kammerer, Drew Dillon and Bruno Ortega swinging well at No. 3, 5 and 6 singles, collecting several points in both sets, but ultimately fell after two sets.
Erik Sarlvik competed at No. 2, battling Tom Bittner and falling 6-1, 6-1.
Doubles
At the number one doubles' spot, Steven Paz and Bruno Ortega teamed up to play Moritz Stoeger and Guillermo Martin to win three points before dropping the match 6-3.
