Cook named Big Sky player of the week

FARMINGTON, Utah – Eastern Washington University guard Andrew Cook has been named the Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. This marks Cook's first career Player of the Week honor.

Cook has been stellar in Eastern Washington's first three games, averaging 18.7 points per game with an impressive shooting percentage of .676. In the Eagles' season opener against Colorado, Cook demonstrated his scoring ability, but it was in their subsequent games where he truly shined.

In Eastern's victory over Seattle, Cook exploded for 25 points, shooting .692 from the field. He also contributed across the board with three assists, three steals, and five rebounds. Against Missouri, an SEC opponent, Cook was equally impressive, scoring 24 points on a scorching .846 shooting, while also recording four steals and three rebounds.

A transfer from Carroll College, Cook is no stranger to putting up big numbers. At Carroll, he established himself as a prolific scorer, and his early success at Eastern Washington has only reinforced his reputation.

Cook's recognition marks the first time an Eagle has been named Big Sky Men's Basketball Player of the Week this season.

The Eagles will look to build on Cook's strong performance when they host Cal Poly on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 4 p.m.
