CHENEY, Wash. – At Eastern Washington, excellence is defined by more than what happens on the court, it's equally measured by success in the classroom. This year, the men's basketball team continued to embody that standard, with 12 student-athletes earning a GPA of 3.20 or higher during the quarter across a wide range of academic disciplines.

Leading the charge were Andrew Cook, Emmett Marquardt, Maddox Monson, and Cole Scherer, each posting an outstanding GPA of 3.80 or higher. Their commitment to academic excellence reflects the same discipline and work ethic they bring to competition. Cook is pursuing a master's degree in Organizational Leadership, Marquardt is working toward a bachelor's degree in Psychology, Monson is studying Communication Studies, and Scherer is majoring in Finance.

The team's success in the classroom didn't stop there. Alton Hamilton IV (Secondary English Education), Jojo Anderson (Accounting), Isaiah Moses (Master's in Organizational Leadership), Alan Gballou (Business Management), Shaumba Ngoyi (International Business and Management), Tyler Powell (Marketing), Straton Rogers (MBA), and Elijah Thomas (Psychology) each maintained a GPA of 3.20 or higher, highlighting the program's depth of academic achievement.

Balancing the demands of Division I athletics with rigorous academic workloads is no small feat, yet this group continues to rise to the challenge. The Eagles' commitment to growth, discipline, and accountability is evident not only in competition, but in their pursuit of success beyond the game.
