It's a quick turnaround for Eastern Washington men's basketball, as they travel down to Lubbock, Texas to play Texas Tech. Eastern will face the Red Raiders on Tuesday, Dec. 13 with tipoff at 5 p.m. Pacific Time.

Eastern Washington played its second of three road games against South Dakota State on Saturday (Dec. 10) in Brookings, S.D. The Eagles dropped the game, 77-76, after the Jackrabbits came from behind to win the game on their home court. Eastern led by as much as 23 in the game, but SDSU caught fire on offense to drive the comeback. The Eagles finished with a 44.8 shooting percentage in the game, while the Jackrabbits were at 47.2 percent.
Five players scored in double figures for Eastern, led by
Ethan Price's 16 on 6-of9(66.7%) shooting.
Casey Jones scored a career-high, 15 points on 5-of-9(55.6%) shooting. Jones also had a game-high nine rebounds.
Steele Venters scored 13 points, with
Angelo Allegri and
Tyreese Davis each scoring 10. SDSU's Zeke Mayo had a game-high 30 points.
A Look at the Eagles
As the non-conference schedule winds down, Eastern Washington is 4-6, going 1-1 at home, 1-4 on the road and 2-1 in neutral site games. The Eagles average 66.3 points per game and are allowing 70.0. The team is shooting 42.7 percent and allowing opponents a 44.3 percentage. Casey Jones growth as a player this season has been remarkable, and he has contributed across the board. Jones leads the team and is seventh in the Big Sky in rebounding with 6.9 per game, while ranking fifth in scoring for the Eagles with 7.2 points per game. The sophomore leads the team with 11 steals and is tied for second with five blocks. Jones has started the last two games and is averaging 12.5 points per game and 11.5 rebounds.
The leading scorer for Eastern is unchanged as
Steele Venters is the go-to weapon. Venters averages 13.6 points per game and is shooting 42.1 percent on field goals and 31.1 on three-point shots.
Ethan Price provides a consistent presence in the paint for the Eagles, averaging 8.4 points per game to rank fourth on the team. Price is second on the team with 5.2 rebounds per game and third with 19 assists. The sophomore is also tied for fourth in the conference with 0.8 blocks per game, recording eight total.
Angelo Allegri and
Tyreese Davis share the facilitator role for Eastern, as the two have 31 and 29 total assists respectively. Allegri and Davis both appear on the conference leaderboard for assist-to-turnover ratio, both tied for sixth with a 1.6 statistic.

This will be the second-straight season that Eastern Washington plays Texas Tech, after facing the Red Raiders for the first time in program history on Dec. 22, 2021. Texas Tech was ranked No. 25 at the time and defeated Eastern, 78-46 in Lubbock.Â
