The Eastern Washington University men's and women's cross country team hosted The Clash of the Inland Northwest last Friday (Sept. 1) and will now make it's way to participate in The Gonzaga Duals this Friday (Sept. 9) in Spokane, Wash. The team will run on the Wandemere Golf Course with the women kicking it off at 6:30 P.M. and the men at 7 P.M. The meet will be hosted by Gonzaga University and the Eagles will also race against Big Sky Conference foe, Idaho.

This meet will be the second meet of the season for the Eagles and the first 8k and 6k distance the men and women will compete in this year. Eastern Washington University has been led in running by redshirt freshman Lilly Fetzer for the women and sophomore Noah Hasselblad for the men. Fetzer won The Clash of the Inland Northwest with a personal best in the 4k, helping the women place first overall. Hasselblad earned a third-place finish to lead the men to second-place overall.

EWU will take the road to their first travel meet on Friday (Sept. 30) to Columbia, Mo., for the Gans Creek Classic. They then return back to Washington for the John Payne/Curtis Invitational (Oct. 1), in Bellingham. Afterwards, the Eagles will jump to Estacada, Ore., for the L&C Invite (Oct. 15), back to Spokane, Wash. for the Sasquatch Invite (Oct. 26), come home to Cheney for the Big Sky Championship (Oct. 28), run in the NCAA West Regional (Nov. 11 in Seattle, Wash.), and finally finish off the season with the NCAA Championship (Nov 18) in Stillwater, Okla.
