CHENEY, Wash. - Eastern Washington begins its postseason run as the No. 3 seed in the Big Sky Conference Tournament, facing No. 6 Weber State in Monday's quarterfinal matchup at 7 p.m., PST. The game marks the third meeting between the two teams this season after they split the regular-season series.
The Eagles enter the tournament aiming to carry late-season momentum into postseason play, while the Wildcats present a dangerous offensive challenge with the ability to score both inside and from beyond the arc. With a semifinal berth on the line, Mondays contest will serve as the rubber match between the two programs this season.
Alaska's Sharpshooter
Isaiah Moses has been a consistent force for the Eagles all season. The redshirt senior guard started all 31 games and leads the team with 555 points. He surpassed the 1,000-point career milestone on January 3 against Idaho and currently leads the nation in free-throw percentage at 93.48%.
The Big Two
Alton Hamilton IV and Kiree Huie have formed one of the most productive frontcourts in the conference. The duo combined for 811 points, 341 rebounds, and 60 blocks during the regular season, anchoring the Eagles inside on both ends of the floor. Their physical presence in the paint has been central to Eastern's success throughout the year.
Season Series Recap
Eastern Washington and Weber State split their two regular-season meetings, with each team defending its home floor.
The Wildcats claimed the first matchup in Ogden, 91–80, despite four Eagles finishing in double figures. Huie led Eastern with a career-high 21 points, while Moses, Hamilton, and Tyler Powell also contributed offensively. Eastern shot 48 percent from the field, but Weber State held advantages in rebounding (37–31) and three-point shooting.
Eastern answered in the rematch at Reese Court with an 84–66 victory. The Eagles shot 60 percent from the field, scored 44 points in the paint, and limited second-chance opportunities defensively. Hamilton led the way with a career-high 24 points on 9-of-10 shooting, while Huie added 20 points and Moses chipped in 11.
2025–26 Big Sky Regular Season Recap
The Eagles experienced a season filled with ups and downs, finishing 13–18 overall and 11–7 in Big Sky play. A late-season surge that included an eight-game winning streak helped propel Eastern into the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament.
One of the season's most memorable moments came at home against Montana. Eastern erased a seven-point deficit in the final eight minutes, fueled by key plays from Andrew Marquardt, Huie, and Moses. Hamilton ultimately sealed the victory with a basket and clutch free throws before the defense forced a turnover in the closing seconds.
Tournament Outlook
Monday's quarterfinal matchup will likely be decided by rebounding and perimeter defense. In Weber State's win earlier this season, the Wildcats capitalized on second-chance opportunities and efficient three-point shooting. In Eastern's victory, the Eagles controlled the paint, limited extra possessions, and converted defensive stops into transition offense.
Hamilton and Huie continue to anchor Eastern's interior presence, while Moses and Powell provide scoring and playmaking on the perimeter. The Eagles will look to combine defensive intensity with balanced scoring as they pursue a run in the Big Sky Championship.
