CHENEY, Wash. – Eastern Washington University head men's basketball coach
Dan Monson has announced the addition of Jalen Griffith to the Eagles' roster, bringing in a dynamic point guard known for his scoring, playmaking and defensive presence.
"Jalen is a natural leader that is coming off a very efficient season at Western Michigan University," said Monson. "He plays with a chip on his shoulder and does a tremendous job connecting people. His ability to score and play make from both guard spots make him a valuable piece to our roster."
Griffith joins Eastern after the 2025-26 season at Western Michigan, where he appeared in 27 games with 17 starts. He averaged 11.9 points and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 45.7 percent from the field and over 41 percent from three-point range. He led the team in assists and ranked among its top scorers, highlighted by a 21-point performance against Eastern Michigan.
Prior to that, Griffith starred at Navarro College in 2024-25, starting all 32 games and averaging 15.4 points, 5.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game. He earned First Team All-Region 14 honors while helping the Bulldogs reach the Region XIV Tournament quarterfinals.
He began his collegiate career at Jacksonville, appearing in 21 games as a freshman on a team that advanced to the Atlantic Sun Tournament semifinals.
A standout at Simeon Academy in Chicago, Griffith earned First Team All-State honors and helped lead his team to a 32-4 record and a Class 3A state runner-up finish.
Griffith adds experience, leadership and versatility to Eastern's backcourt heading into the 2026-27 season.
